Voiced by Yuu Asakawa, who previously voiced Priss Asagiri in Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Shiiris from Record of Lodoss War and Pochi 2 Gou from Photon: The Idiot Adventures. Motoko is quite a female kendo student, soundly mastering an ancient Japanese sword artform at the age of fifteen. Of course, having family and a dojo in Kyoto, Motoko-chan had several advantages that traditional kendo trainees normally don't have. Despite Motoko's astounding abilities, her older sister, who decided to relinquish her sword for a husband, remains much better at their family's kendo swordforms than she's ever been. Coupled with the fact that Motoko is uneasy around boys as well as men in general, and what you have is a walking, sword-swinging time bomb waiting to go off at the slightest bump. Her surface hatred of Keitaro is just that, as he makes her feel like a normal woman, which, of course, severely disrupts her concentration and kendo traning.
